I love this kind of stuff, it's what I used to love at TBK. Thank you DAVE. This is the kind of stuff I been a follower for so many years.....thanks Dave and look forward to many of my favorites sharing memories, stories and opinions driven by their love of UK. I loved Fitch....I always try to pick a 'favorite' each year and in those years it was Gerald. There was just something about the way he played....made me think / wish I could play like that. Right know I'm getting the same vibes about JY and JR, there's their attitude that's drawing me to closely watching them.

There was a report on PTL that wiggins was nervous playing in front of the Kansas spotlight, that's a big spotlight but only a candle to the big blue , I didn't see any nerves in Young ,he played with a lot of confidence and played defense too, the more I see of Young the more I like! To give it up to Hawkins on the lob he could of just as easily score himself ,shows a lot character and I think a better teammate ! I think Young might be a player who thrives on the spotlight

Thanks for the insight that you give! Greatly appreciated Dave! This is crazy. Just read this post yesterday. I'm in Duke Univ hospital...my wife just gave birth to number three. Our pediatrician just came in to chat before we are discharged and she looks at me and my uk shirt and says, "by the way, go cats!" I told her how odd it was to find other cat fans here, of all places. She told me yes, but she has been a Kentucky fan ever since high school when she played at the same school as Gerald Fitch. In fact, she said, my dad really kind of adopted him after his brother was shot and killed and we remain close friends still. Her dad still speaks to him through text at least a couple of times a week. I know she saw the shock in my eyes as I told her that I had just read this post by you yesterday. She told me she was going to text him and tell him she had just met a fan of his at Duke Hospital! Wow. That is pretty cool.

It would seem like your pediatrician is talking about the doctor that took Gerald under his wing. Small world. Thanks. EDIT: When you have a follow up with your pediatrician, would you ask her for her dad to come here and tell us the whole story. I want to thank him personally.
