This site is the brain child of Chingy, Jenkins, and a couple others I think... they took the initiative to start the free site on proboards. There has since been much colaboration betweeen the moderators. Katscratches was not started to take members away from TBK, rather provide a place to gather and stay a community in the event Marc did not return and the "lights were turned out". That being said, the fact we have close to 300 members in less than a week has blown us all away. This, without promoting the site whatsoever. It's really remarkable. I bought the domain name katscratches.com, took care of hosting fees, and linked it to the site as you see it today. I would like to build a custom site in the future, but as of right now this is quite adequate. This will be a website for UK fans, a community without dictatorship rule. A place where everyone is treated fairly, yet still held accountable for their actions. If you say something stupid, expect someone to tell you about it. Don't wear your feelings on your sleeves or be thin skinned. This is a place for spirited and intelligent conversation and debate, just be respectful. Furthermore, this is not a place to rant, not a place to say a team "sucks" after a loss(es). The "Respect Your Team" rule was one of TBK's endearing qualities. That out of the way, I would like this place to be fun, much like TBK was in the beginning. The banter was agressive and sharp, yet always in good fun. I miss that. -RR pretty cool stuff. we all appreciate it. you rock mr. RR

I want to say how glad I am for this new board. I was there for Kentucky Uncensored and Kentucky Ink, then TBK, and it was sad how TBK had become. Marc has always been a huckster, albeit with good info. I am really happy to see so many old names from back in the day, like Dave and Ty, and many others. One thing I hope we can get up and running here is a game-time chat room. I have many good memories of game day chats with Trish and others and I hope can do that again.

I really appreciate the new site.......It was becoming really hard sifting through all of the old threads to find things to read, etc. I don't post much (as you can see from my TBK account) but love reading the discussions! Again, thanks.

I am also an original lifer member. I rarely posted, but checked the site numerous times daily. Now I check it maybe once every 2 or 3 days. I have missed the TBK postings and am thrilled to have found this site. Like many, I was somewhat afraid of posting my thoughts (respectfully) on TBK. Glad to have found this site. Just out of curiosity how long did you guys get good info before things started to get very sparse? I can't really remember. And what was the cost of the lifer sub? I can't seem to recall that either. If you don't care to tell. I too am an original Lifer (meaning no 5 year subscription, but truly unlimited access to TBK until the year 2099 if I recall -- funny, I know). These memberships were essentially the seed money that paid for the development of the site. I think I paid Marc $350 in 2008 for my membership. My opinion is that regular info on the site stopped flowing over a year ago. -Curry-

I noticed a big difference once Marc became associated with the bar. My thought at the time was that his priorities, or focus, had changed at that time. In my case, I feel like I am satisfied with what I got out of the site, but then I didn't make but a year's investment at a time. I may very well feel differently if I had paid a significant amount for the Lifer option (thought about it, just didn't pull the trigger!!!).

Marc never seemed to miss with info. If he did, it was because something changed like with Barton or earlier with Billy Donavon. Other times he knew before anyone else a la Terrence Jones. I'll be around the old board but if he's not doing the scouting work any more, I doubt anyone will still pay to be an insider. That's how I feel. MM gave me a taste / look of UK that I couldn't get anywhere else. I too will keep checking with TBK because I hate to see a good thing die. I never really liked the ''persona'' that MM had....he reminded me too much of Bobby Knight and other bullies.....but it was his dime so I had to swallow a lot of comments that would have had me 'timed out'' or banned. I will stick around at least until my Lifer subscription lapses hoping against hope. I just wish that MM had had the grace to bow out with class and tell everyone good bye.......holding my breath on that one....luckily I'm just turning Bluer. Love the way this site is developing as others feel like I do and want to keep the fellowship going.

I'm not going to get into the back story...but Marc's lack of interest in TBK, and my problems with it, is/was the main reason I was banned back in 2011. I bitched about it (a lot) on the Mod fourm and was finally cut off. Never went back after that day, and am glad the posters/mods found a new home that welcomed me back. All I will say is I met Marc, and he was a nice guy. My mechanic buddy actually did some work for him on one of his cars when he was living in Hodgenville. His internet persona left a lot to be desired...but it is what it is. Like I said, glad to be home. I told Marc after I was banned that his lack of effort on the site would bite him on the ass one of these days. And, knowing how he thinks, he will probably drop some info in the not-too-distant future to try and salvage TBK. But, from reading everyone's reactions, its probably going to be too little, too late. Edge You're one of the TBKer's I enjoyed reading and indirectly the fellowship .......glad to see you here........keep posting

The thing is even if Marc does come back. The things that are happening now will happen again. It will never be what it once was. So even if he gave a free year it would be a free year to sporadic insider info. Which ok that would be cool but it certainly would not lead this guy to re-up on a sub or go back to TBK. Yeah that's true. Cut your losses folks.

I really can't figure out why Marc would start something like TBK and really had things going and then just drop it like he did knowing he was still in the business I think, I don't really know ? Is he still doing his scouting or has he quit that too, does anyone know?

TBK was a GOLD MINE, and could have been as big as KSR had Marc put ANY sort of effort into it (and not been a colossal wee-wee head). He hit while the iron was hot right after Tubby left and there was excitement in the program. Now, granted, I didn't care too much for how he propped up less-than-stellar recruits that BCG was bringing on board, but I was happy to be excited about BB again. I was one of the charter members of FireTubbySmith.com, and thought the day he(Tubby) left we had no where to go but up. Boy, was I wrong.
And, I'm an idiot. Marc propped up a coach that wasn't ready for this and I followed him lock step til the end. Hell, I kept arguing that BCG wasn't given a chance even after he was fired. Part of it was probably that Tubby left such a bad taste in my mouth, but part of it was, frankly, I believed in Marc.
Oh, well, it is what it is. Cal's got s*it right now and we are rolling. Lets enjoy the season and the camaraderie, good times ahead.

Hey All,
I've just come over to this board, was a long time lurker at TBK and Kentucky Ink, and appreciate all the info Marc and the Insiders gave...but alas, all good things usually come to and end, and better things take their place. Agree that MM should have been more vocal what was going on, but would rather put the energy into making this board awesome. I always felt scared to post there, knowing if I said the wrong thing I might be ridiculously banned, so obviously looking for a place I can post intelligent views. Also if any CatFans live in Southern California like me would love to watch games together...think the Alumni Association (not an alumni personally, just originally from Lexington) is planning a viewing party for the UNC game. Look forward to the development of this board, intelligent views, and can't wait for the season GO CATS.
