Those that have bothered to read the football posts I have made on this site know that I can be critical (sarcasim and negativity are my strengths!). I also believe in backing those who come under fire unjustly.
There are a number of articles running in local media about the disaster that was on display this past Saturday, the actions taken by the coaching staff as a result, and what it all means going forward. I certainly agree that the product put in front of the fans was a real disappointment and for the most part, this team missed the boat during the season. However, the level of dissatisfaction and some of the conclusions being drawn are WAY out of line w/ the circumstances at hand. A case in point is the article currently running on Sea-Of-Bue:

While I think they have a very good fan site and most of what they put up is on solid footing I really believe they went over the top here. Saying that Stoops is "not the man" to lead UK forward is plainly reactionary and short-sighted. Stoops is being called out for engaging the same patience with individual players as he has for patiently building the program. Yes, he may have taken some chances on players w/ shall we call them personality traits(?) aka Fran Curci and is paying the price thereof but Saturday isn't the end of the world.
Stoops is doing what Stoops does; steadying the ship, being positive and not over-reacting to an immediate situation. My guess is that the waters will calm and the Cats will represent well in whatever (Nashville) Bowl Game comes their way.
Until such time as the Program shows signs of teetering (recruiting starts slipping) UK fans need to take a step back, (re)gain some perspective and always keep realistic expectations when evaluating the state of the nation.
