The record says 5-1. The eye-balls say this team could be anywhere between 6-0 and 1-5.
How do you develop a run-defense that is one of the best (statistically) in the country? Easy, let the other team pass all-over-you. Statistically, this one was an "L"; Mizzou out-gained UK in most categories w/ the points-off-turnovers being the significant difference. A (very) tepid Mizzou team had it's way with a banged up, mistake (how can you let somebody get behind you in the closing seconds of the half?) ridden Kentucky defense that just barely slowed the onslaught enough to get the "W". UK was the beneficiary of some referee boondogary at the end that certainly helped. Give Missouri credit for playing hard and they certainly benefited from the bye-week. They also looked at UK tape saw opportunity..... oh, well it still says we're 5-1.
If there ever was a time for a bye-week this is the perfect scenario. UK is mighty banged up and the competition gets tougher from here. Many people are now saying that UK will be favored in their next four (Miss State, Ole Miss, Vandy and UT); if so there are going to be decimal points involved (w/ leading zero's). Miss State on the road? Sorry, I watched the State vs LSU game - I cringe at the thought of this one. The other three? Coin flips each and every one. Finish the season against Georgia (giggle) and Louavull in what looks like another coin flip.
For two weeks just enjoy looking at the record and stay away from watching any replays.....
