It took a concerted effort to come away with a win over EMU; that says a lot in and of itself. A strip-sack and quick TD by the Visitors set the tone for the day.
We went into the season believing that UK's success through the air was going to be predicated on opponents respecting UK's run game. Four games into the season the opposite has been true. UK has yet to show any signs of dominating play along the O-Line and offensive success has predominately been via S. Johnsons skinny right arm. Another good D-Line performance counterbalances another meh D-Back one. Special Team efforts were the difference maker in a too-close-for-comfort home win.
You look at the Mizzou game and think "win" but would you really be surprised if it went the other way? Based on HOW the Team has played so far this year I would not be.

I look at it this way: as terrible as this team has played, it has shown me a refuse to lose mentality that will be useful when they put it all together. It was at about this point last season when they hit their stride, to the surprise of all of us. Coaching staff does need to get away from the playing not to lose strategy.
