I echo some of the sentiment being thrown around that the 1st game was a "disappointing win" if there is such a thing when discussing UK Football. While So. Miss isn't in the cupcake category and the game was played on-the-road I had hoped UK would play the part of an SEC bully rather than the just-a-little-better-than-you SEC pretender. The O-Line that everyone expects to be the backbone of this Team did not display much; protection was good but opening holes, specially near the goal line and in the Wildcat, was not at all what is needed or expected. Snell fumbling to squander UK's first threat was also a deflator. Conrad was the star of the offense. Johnson had a good-not-great outing, made some decent decisions but also missed badly on a couple wide open receivers. The D played well for most of the game but wore down noticably and had a couple bad mistakes in the secondary; still the run-D was better than expected against a good tailback.
UK won several close games last year to make the final record what it was; they may be in the same boat this year. Florida looks beatable based upon that Michigan game so we'll see soon enough what UK is made of.
