Congrats to Stoops and Marrow on continuing to improve Kentucky's base-line talent. They have consistently brought in higher quality athletes since their arrival and that is THE MOST important element to consistently competing. The truth of the situation is that UK is STILL being out recruited by almost all of the other SEC schools (sorry Vandy) but the gap between the-ceiling-and-the-floor has been closing.
I believe that my personal attitude is akin to that of most UK Football fans. Realistically, keep us competitive and get us regularly in Bowl contention. Modest, achievable goals.

I really like what this staff has done with recruiting and managing the roster. By that I mean redshirting the guys who can benefit the most from a year in the weight room and on the practice team. I really expect that we will see an improved team on the field this fall. Can't wait to see what Bowden can do.

Yeah, I'm pretty pumped. If you aren't competitive along the OL and DL, you really are just a pretender. We had a quality OL last year w/ decent depth, and I assume we'll be replacing Toth w/ a HS AA redshirt freshman in Jackson. The DL has been the bigger issue for years, IMO, particularly at tackle, but I'm hoping we're making progress on building a quality 2 deep w/ a steady flow of kids in development [redshirts] behind that.
BTW, Reggie Meant's departure was kind of spun at the time as a temporary matter. However, there's been nothing since about a re-enrollment. From a practical standpoint, one would think he'd need to be back here during the summer for training purposes in order to be in playing shape for the fall. Is there anything about him returning or is he gone for good and, if so, why?

Reggie is a goner; never expected to return to the squad. everyone has been pretty tight-lipped on the why's-and-wherefore's thereof. You are absolutely right concerning the D-Line. One of the most difficult positions to fill are the D-Tackles; there are so few quality prospects at that position coming out of the H.S. ranks and "the big boys" always gobble them up quickly. Most teams (like UK) have to mine and develop D-Line Tackles so getting a diamond-in-the-rough and red shirting him is a real "win". Then again, getting a supposed stud and having him under perform is a real disappointment (not mentioning any names but you know.....).
