Thoughts?
A little sloppy, but beat the spread. Hopefully the injuries aren't too bad even though I'm pretty sure Montgomery is done. Hopefully Timmons only tweaked an ankle (he was walking on it after the fact).
Obviously have to tighten things up quite a bit to even think about being competitive with Mizzou next week. I have a feeling they're going to tear up our secondary.

Passing game is almost nonexistent, but I like the heart of this team.

In Neal Brown's post game interview, a good point was brought up. Basically they said that Whitlow is really raw because he hasn't played QB too long. In high school he played WR most of the time.
Neal also said Jalen appears to be aiming the ball and needs to just "grip it and rip it." I agree with this. Some of his short throws were awful because he was trying to make them perfect instead of just throwing naturally.
I will keep my fingers crossed on the injuries, and I won't be chestbumping anyone soon lol.

Wouldn't you know that the 1st injury I am aware of would be to one of OUR key players !

To be fair, you could step off a curb and tear an ACL it just looks incredibly bad that it was during a celebration (and unfortunately very Kentucky Football-esque).
As far as the passing game, the passing ability itself is there. You saw it on his TD throw to Borden. I think his form just breaks down when there's pressure. It's something that will improve with reps and I'm glad we're to the point of sticking with him at QB. I hate it for Smith but Whitlow gives us the best chance right now.

I am glad to see that we gotten away from the two QB system. As someone else said, you can see whitlow make some solid throws. Getting the reps down and building the timing with his WR will make a huge difference.

Team is trying and playing hard. But we aren't going to be rolling until we get better QB play.

We have a half-way decent QB play and we're sitting at 4-4 right now, with wins over Miss St. and South Carolina on the road. The lack of solid play at that position has hurt this team more than any this season, with the O-line a close second.

That win over Louisville sure would have been sweet had we had any semblance of QB play. Our D was stout in that 1st half then ran out of gas in the 2nd half because they couldn't get a break with the O going 3 and out every possession it seemed. That was hard to watch. I think its pretty safe to say that next years starter will be one of Barker, Phillips or Towles. Whitlow will compete but I don't see him winning the job not with Neal Brown(Air Raid not ground raid) as OC. Still would love to see Whitlow take on a Cobb like role playing some Wildcat QB next year and some WR. That takes a special player but if Whitlow steps up I think he could pull it off. He's definitely got the athletic ability and unlike Cobb he's even got size.
I'm still happy with this team and coaching staff. The team has played hard, they've come prepared every week, and the coaches are also still recruiting their arses off. The 2014 class along with some of the studs from 2013 will lay the foundation for the program for the year to come under Stoops. Really pumped about that. Just can't wait to see the players get on campus and the plan come to fruition.
