Just figured I'd throw this out there since I'm watching from home and able to post. Great crowd, they distributed something like 42,000 tickets and there's a decent amount of those folks there.
The QB situation looks much better than it has in the past few years. Smith is not playing due to recovering from a much needed shoulder surgery. Towles came out with the 1s and from all accounts looks to be the man who is holding the starting position. He's looked far more polished than I've ever seen him as well as in much better physical shape than I've seen him. He's making better decisions with the ball and looks like he's really coming into his own. Nothing real flashy, but with as good as our running backs have looked we may not need flashy as much as we need manageable at this point. Barker has also looked good but he's a step behind Towles in terms of accuracy. Phillips has looked pretty sharp too. Looks like we have a good group of heady guys who could make some plays in this offense this season.
WR is hard to evaluate right now because so many guys are out. DeMarco has looked good. Haven't seen the case of the dropsies we've seen in the past among this group either.
Our RBs are easily the deepest position on the field and I don't think it's necessarily because of some weak spots on the defense either. Jojo Kemp has looked quick, shifty, and has gotten to the end zone. Heard looks like a beast and can really haul it down the field despite his size. I'm most excited about Josh Clemons who has looked good and most importantly HEALTHY.
Za'Darius is, excuse my language, a grown ass man. Really getting after it. A couple spots on the line have looked a little rough early on and that could be a weakness going forward this season.
Secondary hasn't seen much action down the field at this point but when they have they've had good coverage on both sides.
Blue 24, White 7 at the half. Feel free to add what you like.
