Looks like the battle for starting QB got a little bit clearer today. Probably for the best, if he was determined to play QB.

Read a tweet that said he didn't want to be moved to WR.

Yeah, heard the same thing about him not wanting to move. It is what it is. I figure the QB race is Barker's to lose.

I hate it, because 1) I thought he could become a bigger/badder Randall Cobb here, and 2) I always thought that even if he improved his accuracy, his release was always going to be too slow at this level & the offense Brown wants to run. JMO
A real shame.

In my opinion it shows self over team...it's not needed anyway. We've all known he'd help the team more at WR than at QB. I wish him luck.

I'm an optimist, so I'm hoping (against all odds) that Whitlow will agree to come to JUST ONE PRACTICE to try WR. His decision was likely based more on emotion than on reality and, if he tried the position ONCE (with his knowledge of where the WR's go on each play since he was a QB) I believe he would be surprised at how easily he could move the chains! Plus, being hit by DB's would hurt LOTS LESS than by huge LB's and gigantic DL's...just sayin!

Don't see it happening Jim, but I'm like you...I'd like to see him at least give it a shot. His best chance of playing on Sundays is NOT under center.
There's an article floating around about how he transferred around and some quotes from his dad saying that the coaches bent to the will of the fans. Now...I don't know Stoops personally, but I don't see that hard-headed SOB bending will to anyone.
Fact is, Whitlow may have known the offense, but knowing it and executing it are 2 different things. He can't make the throws, and I've seen Barker make some AMAZING tosses. He was one of the 2-3 best QB's in the Elite 11 challenge, and I'm just fine with wheeling him out there and taking our lumps to help him grow.
Excited about next Saturday so I can see the team live and get some sort of feel for how they're gonna look this fall.

Yeah, I don't expect it either, but I can't stop thinking about it yet. And Stoops proly listens to his wife, but saying he cares what the fans think is laughable! Any kid's you know among today's "millennials" that have finished 2 years of college and listen to their dads? This was Jalen's decision! But I seem to remember his dad complained publicly when Max beat him out, so why wouldn't he complain now when at least two (cause if he was #2 they would not have asked him to change positions) QB's beat him out again? Dads do that.

Sad to see him go because he definitely put it all out there. All indications though seem to tell us that he lost his starting spot at QB. And with Kentucky's QB situation that can only mean good things.
