After middlin' performances against two of the perceived SEC bottom-dwellers, UK now faces a four game stretch featuring three ranked teams incorporating two "away" games. The 1st up is the on-paper "easiest" of the contests featuring a roadie against Georgia. UK enters this one as a tepid 5.5 favorite according to KenPom. UK figures to be dogs' against Auburn (away) and Kansas (home) w/ the Mississippi State somewhat of a toss up. Certainly, this stretch can be a resume' builder or put the season in the tank with 4-0 or 0-4 performances. I believe UK comes out 3-1 but you can roll the dice on which of those "3" games results in the "W's".
For my money..... give me more Richards and less of the PJ/Travis combo. Still not sure what Richards is showing in practice (or not) that has him playing behind the former two but the eyeball test at games says he should be getting some of those minutes.

I've said from the beginning: we need a line up that features a credible rim protector. As Cal HIMSELF has said: if you have no post presence, your team is a fraud.

For every block Richards gets there's another play he gets caught ball watching and costs us a defensive stop. Even still I too might take the gamble. If he can just reach that point where the game slows down for him. Seems fixable with more experience...but then again Cal gave him a pretty long leash last year so I really don't know what to think. Another (minor) thing....I'm so used to seeing us win the opening tip. For so many years it felt like a given. With Nick on the bench that's all but gone. I know its just one possession, not a huge deal, but still. All said, I can't really fault Cal with the lineup. His instincts of who to roll with to be ready for March prove to be right in the end far more than not. PJ's made some gains though and looks like he's actually starting to have fun. He and Reid have been playing with some good chemistry for a little while now too so....just a pick your poison kind of deal I suppose.

That was a nice effort in Athens last night. Other than Hagans nobody stood out but the overall play (other than the Georgia dunk-fest over the 1st four minutes) was pretty solid. Herro's shot was off but he had a few nice drives and wasn't a defensive liability. PJ was pretty quiet but did drill a "3" and Richards took a charge and generally was solid in the paint. Good way to start this three-game stretch. Here's what the Atlanta newspaper had to say: www.ajc.com/sports/bulldogs-get-sellout-crowd-athens-but-lose-kentucky-again/huRHU1xSq3gwkS4AFFJcqN/I absolutely LOVE away games where you can hear the crowd chanting "Go Big Blue" in the background. Had several eruptions of which towards the end of this one.

Damn boys! I didn’t expect a win at AU. Didn’t get to see it as I am on pacific time but thrilled with the result.

Looked yesterday that PJ and Reid heard you......they contributed good play in the Auburn....each at different moments often key ones.

I confess to walking away from the TV w/ less than 3 minutes to go; got so frustrated at the blown lead I just couldn't watch what I expected to happen to UK at the end of the game. All I ended up doing was walking out to the barn and turning on the radio anyhow.... Credit to the boys for not letting the world collapse and allow Auburn to steal a game from them. Other than the turn-over plagued start and some incredibly silly fouls on the perimeter, I thought UK was solid.

THREE DOWN AND THE BIG-FISH TO GO. That wasn't he best the Cats have looked last night, but they had some dominant stretches. Saturday oughta' be special in Rupp.

RoyalCrown.....Kansas win was greatly due to PJ / Travis.......glad to see them dominate PS Richards with 5 blocks and EJ played some solid minutes.....it'll be harder for opponents when all 4 of our bigs make significant contributions.

Yep; that was fun (although watching them clang shot-after-shot in the 1st half was frustrating). UK getting lots of love nowadays. What the hell has happened to Auburn? Now UK has to get into take-care-of-business mode and not get ambushed.
