Looks like UK is going to be something like a 4-point favorite at The Yum! Chris Mack has coached-up a middling bunch of Cardinals into a dangerous opponent; I expect a competitive game well into the 2nd half. UK's power game should ultimately prove the difference but expect Mack to play a lot of Zone to protect the interior and make UK prove themselves from the arc. You can bet UL will have a solid plan going into the game.
Mack deserves a lot of respect. Look at what is happening w/ Xavier since he left and what he's done w/ Louavull in the early going.
Of course, the temptation is to look at the common opponent (Seton Hall) and draw a conclusion. UL played from behind most of the game at Seton Hall and came away w/ the "W". UK played from ahead most of the game and lost in OT at a neutral site. You can follow that logic if you want but it's all about match-ups to me.....
If UK improves off the UNC effort then the Cats win going away; if they come in feeling full of themselves then the result will be in doubt.

Well said, RC, including your take on Mack. I'd say in any other year with a different schedule and coming off a big win this could be a trap game. But being we have Louisville next might actually work in our favor. The nature of the rivalry seems to have translated well in the past even with freshman. So I wonder if Cal has less to worry about as far as having the team mentally ready to show up and fight. The student body or general campus atmosphere often takes care of that by itself. Or at least thats my hope anyway. I like Christmas ham but some bbq card wings on Saturday sure does sound good right about now. Fingers crossed... GO Cats!

I think we'll be OK IF we can clean up our turnovers & get some meaningful bench contribution. You can't expect every team to reciprocate when you throw the ball away 18 times, and we can't afford to have Quickley, Nick, EJ and Baker to be non-scorers.

I am feeling a Herro breakout game!
Disclaimer- prediction based on the tried and true message board method of he’s “due” and the thought that I will look smart if I am right.

Well, that worked out rather well for you. lol haha! yep. He is way too good of a shooter to not have a breakout game. I was just lucky on my guess. I still haven't watched the game though to see it :-( I am in Ecuador on vacation. UK Basketball is that big here
