I have seen this kid play for two years now. Ive seen him 4 times each year. He is from a high school about 15 min from where I live. I am friends with his head coach and he has told me if UK offers that Oscar will commit. He has been begging for a UK offer. Extremely strong and athletic big man. Needs to work on his shot but im hearing its getting better. Watched one game last year where he had 17 rebounds at half haha. Just went toe to toe with Wiseman and went for 20+ points.
Just a heads up of a name to watch

Given the talent & upside that comes with it, I say you take him, regardless. That kind of motor tends to motivate/shame every other kid on the roster to increase their own effort, as well.

Ya he is an interesting kid. He was ranked like 120 something last year and shot way up the rankings. Got an offer from Kansas too. They kid does nothing in his life but play basketball and workout haha. I really like him.

Had dinner last night with the coach of Kennedy Catholic. The reports that WV lead for Oscar is completely false. Anyone that says that has no idea what they are talking about. UK leads and leads about as far as you can lead. If UK offers, Oscar will commit 100% for sure. If not he is going to WV. 2 horse race. The kid is obsessed with going to UK.

I'm wondering: is the sudden flirtation with Agiehon designed, in part, to trigger a quick commitment from Oscar?

I'm wondering: is the sudden flirtation with Agiehon designed, in part, to trigger a quick commitment from Oscar? Seems like UK is rumored to be involved with, or has interest in, every Center in the class. More fuel to the "no-Wiseman" fire. Judging on the number of Centers listed in the Top-40, either this is a very good/deep pool of Centers or a very thin class at the other positions.

I like the potential for this young man......that being said Wiseman or Cary would be my first choices.......that being said I think it's smarter to ''a bird in the hand'' for the first to commit.
I fear the pressure that Memphis is putting on Wiseman to stay home may work
looks to be a long wait till spring......hoping Cal takes Oscar on his visit and then work to bring another big by spring time.

Cal always wants the best of the best for program success. Just gotta wonder what effect taking this guy would have on either of Wiseman or Vernon Carey, and if Cal is willing to take a chance all the way into late spring ? Not to dispute Catinohio who claims intimate insider knowledge, but his AAU coach says his name is pronounced as Shoob--way. Rhymes with Lube He also says that right now Huggins leads, but did say nothing is final at this time.

Guys this is very simple. UK could very likely lose EJ, PJ and will lose Reid next year. They need front court depth and lots of it. I could see them taking 3 guys minimum. You have to cast a wide net in this scenario. Wiseman and Carey are going to start no matter what for whatever program they choose and we will still have plenty of minutes for another big guy or 2.
Again, I dont care what his AAU coach is saying publicly. He has a very good relationship with WV. He wants to protect that. Oscar absolutely wants to go to UK.

I got some more interesting news on Oscar Friday night. Oscars camp is very divided at this point and is causing quite a friction. The Mancino family is strongly pushing Oscar to UK and UK is Oscars preference. Oscars handler/guardian, however, is strongly pushing for WVU. He has essentially become very obnoxious with the whole scenario. He will not even talk to or be cordial with anyone but WVU. When WVU is in town, he invites them over, cooks steaks, has nice sit downs, etc. He refused to even take Oscar on his visit to UK, instead the Mancino family took him this past weekend. The Mancino family still believes Oscar chooses UK in the end, but his guardian is doing everything in his power to prevent that from happening including bashing UK and making sure Oscar knows every possible negative scenario about UK.
