It certainly sounds like the possibility of Knox returning for a Sophomore season is a realistic possibility; guess we'll get an answer in a couple days. Obviously, anytime you can get your top scorer and offensive focal point back for another season it would be considered an achievement. Hope he does put the NBA on-hold for a year and returns to Lexington, but honestly I think Vanderbilts decision ultimately affects UK more.......

It would be huge, but I'll believe it when I see it. I have to think that at bare minimum, he'll go to the process of declaring w/o hiring an agent so as to get further feedback--if he feels he needs it. We've had kids come back, but not--IIRC --when it's involved turning down a clear lottery pick. It'd be great if he did, tho, for sure.

Cal will push Knox out...he has stated his job is to help families...isn't that why he is paid, close to 8 million dollars ? I go back to the days of Rupp and Joe Hall who were paid a fraction as much---- to win, for the BBN fan base, and for the University of Kentucky ! Maybe 2 and done is actually on the horizon---we can only hope ! And no I am not happy with TLT seasons of futility.

You can color me as shocked Max,as I read this right after my earlier rant..Also saw speculation that SGA might be putting off a decision because he and Knox were such close friends. FWIW

Well, never thought Cal would "push him out the door", but did expect him to offer up the standard advice, which is "go if you're a definite lottery pick". I'd forgotten about Knox's age and, even now, surprised that he gave it as much weight as he seems to have given it as possibly constituting an exception to his conventional wisdom.
Again, I'd be thrilled to see him come back, but I'll only believe it when I see it.

Could be reaction to the first time ever, public fan criticism Cal has received this past season, directly related to a season with a squad with no returning experience. Then throw in the effect of the disappointment over failing to make the FF with a path so clearly opened up that Emmert and his selection committe was gasping in dismay. Then throw in Villinovas sudden success, hell can you say domination, with no 5 stars or OAD guys, but with a team whose success was due to retaining 3 and 4 year players.
