.... this team was what everyone figured it was; too flawed to advance. That was hard to watch Thursday; the instant hole, the whole-game-journey-to-come-back-from-the-hole, and the final minute lack of execution. Can't fault anybody's effort and I said at the outset that making it through the 1st weekend would equate to a successful run for this team but..... you don't get many opportunities like this years wave of upsets (supposedly) opening doors for you.
Oh well; onto the "aftermath" portion of the season.
SGA = Gone Knox = Gone Diallo = Gone Gabriel = Gone Vanderbilt = Gone SKJ = Returns Richards = Returns Washington = Returns Green = Returns Baker = Returns Wynyard = ?
My best guess.

I agree with your assessment. Though, Gabriel and Diallo SHOULD be back I think they'll push on. Vanderbilt should come back too but if the money's calling, ya gotta answer.

Vanderbilt's mindset was clear before he ever arrived here. I think he'll be lying to himself, a bit, but my guess is that he'll convince himself that he should go now. Same is probably true of Diallo. I don't know about Gabriel or Washington, tho for very different reasons.

I don't buy that a sprained ankle of 2 weeks duration ended Vanderbilt's season. A bad high ankle sprain maybe, but there was never a boot, crutches or a temporary cast. I think it was his foot again, and Cal wanted to protect the foot, and hide that injury,to lessen the blow to his NBA future. if so the NBA people will find out...no idea what that does for his decision. Jump and hope to be drafted before something ends his career,or return and show durability--- IDK As for Diallo and Gabriel....I believe they should both return....both would have to spend a minimum of two years in the G league, ala Dakari, before sitting on the end of somebodys bench,or go overseas. If Ashton Hagans was to reclassify and pick Ky,that would make 2 bigger 5 star, point guards coming in. I worry that Q. Green might transfer in that scenerio....maybe back home to play at Nova.

In the end, what truly matters is that both UNC and Duke were knocked out and will not be NCs. Whatever else plays out, I have that to comfort me at night. :-)
