I've never been to Chicago and I was wondering if somebody can help me with recommendations on a hotel. My son (senior in high school) and I are landing at Midway on Tuesday afternoon and we'll have about 5-6 hours before the game. I was hoping to check in and then spend some time doing a couple of touristy things before the game. Heading back out the next morning. Would truly appreciate any feedback from folks who are familiar with the area. Thanks in advance, guys.

FWIW - My parents are going with the 101 club to the game with about 40 or so UK fans and are staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites downtown about 4-5 blocks from the Navy Pier… Enjoy!

If you stay near Navy Pier, the Shedd Aquarium is pretty cool. Theres also a Natural History/Science Museum near it but I have never beem there. Also if youve never had a Chicago style pizza Giordanos is awesome thick pizza. A medium could easily feed 2-3 men. Hope that helps

I live between Chicago and Milwaukee and travel back and forth between the two every week for work. Giordanos is a huge tourist attraction and usually has an hour plus wait. Lou Malnoti's is just as good (better in my opinion) as Giordanos, same style pizza, with a shorter wait. Also, if anyone is traveling up for the game, you definitely have to get Garrett popcorn Chicago mix. And if you want to grab a few drinks before the game, The Pony is a UK bar. Not near the arena, but a fun bar that fills up with UK fans for all the games. Try their Clydesdale- it won't let you down.

Thanks for the information guys. Hampton Inn downtown it is - always fun to mingle with fellow Wildcat fans and talk hoops at the hotels. Neither of us has never had a Chicago style pizza so Giordanos or Lou Malnoti's are gonna have a couple of new patrons.
Hoping that we can cheer our Cats to a W at, quite possibly, the hardest game on our schedule.

Wish I could go this year! My wife and I have always wanted to go to Chicago, but she is about 35 weeks pregnant at the moment.
