These kind of articles should light a fire under Wiggins if he reads them. JR is a bad man. Wouldn't trade him for anybody.

Wiggins has been reading articles for the last two years that brought up his lapses of effort on the court. Tell ya a little something. Remember when no one could get close to him during the last months of his recruitment? It's because he wouldn't leave his room because he would play video games at eight hour stretches. So what, you say? Other kids are in a gym shooting baskets and playing pickup games. Not Wiggins. He was a shut in. So you'd think articles that are now surfacing which start whispering about desire would motivate him. I'm sure Self is trying to do just that. We'll see, but I think it's in the kids constitutional makeup to coast. I'm almost sure we'll see that in the pros even more-so than at Kansas. I liked Young just as much as Wiggins when were in the hunt for either or both, simply because Wiggins has so much talent. But Young has got eight cylinders, Wiggins six.

From watching a few press conferences with him last year, I kept thinking, "He might have the skills to be an NBA star, but he'll never be a marketing star" which made me laugh at the LeBron comparisons. He seems quite introverted, which is fine, but I just don't really see him making the connection with fans and consumers needed to really be "Next". He may very well not even want to be the guy the media has made him out to be, who knows? I guess Derrick Rose isn't the most outgoing guy and sells shoes, but I found the $180mln Adidas rumor to be a laughable 'investment' on their part.

Julius Randle has that same passion. Pesonally, i would much rather, especially having a coach who is so good at it, have a kid like Demarcus Cousins, who's passion rages, and you have to put forth the effort to try and real him in, than have a guy who just coasts with just as much talent, and you have to constantly poke and try to bring that emotion out of a kid. one thing you always knew for sure, MKG and Cousins, they always left it all out on the court. are you going to be able to say that about Wiggins?

I know the kid is talented, but I'm so glad we got Randle instead. Just watching the game tonight I would say half of his points came on dunks, most of which were on fast breaks. Wiggins has a tendency to disappear and doesn't have that killer instinct that Randle has. Randle pretty much single-handedly brought us back and gave us a chance to win. My opinion is that Wiggins will never live up to the hype in the NBA and I believe Julius will end up having a better career. Hell, he's already better than Wiggins.
