I'm sure some of you had heard via KSR or other outlets about the gentleman that fell at the exhibition game Friday night. I have family that works with Dickie's son, Scott, and had heard the unfortunate news of his fall before the news had broke publicly. He was stepping over the bleacher to his seat when his wife began to fall. He caught her but in the process tumbled down, injuring his head and his spine. He is now paralyzed from the neck down. The following link is regarding Coach Cal, the staff, and the whole team visiting Mr. Gregory at the University of Kentucky Hospital. UK Athletics has also gone through great lengths to make sure Mr. Gregory's family is comfortable while in Lexington (they are not from there) and able to stay close. I'll update as we get further information regarding donations and such. It's things like these that make me very proud to be a University of Kentucky fan, just the way the fanbase, the school, and the teams respond to things like this. link

Being a UK fan, I am not surprised when I hear stories like this one. It's sad when you consider what happened....and may everyone's prayer's be with him and his family.
It's a warm feeling when I read the response by the university, Cal, and the team....I am proud to by a Kentucky fan.

I heard the call for medical assistance on my radio, at the game, but I did not know what had happened. Thanks for the update, and prayers will go out to him and his family.

Is Rupp's upper deck more dangerous than similar arrangements in other facilities? I have been up there and it, indeed, is STEEP. I can see where it would be easy to fall, though most times it is so full that you'd land on a lot of other people. Freak accident or accident waiting to happen?
