what I like about this class is that it isn't full of 1 and dones. I know next year if we lose 7 or 8 people its not a class to where we can compete for a final 4 but its a class that the recruits might stay 2 3 or 4 yrs which means if we get 2 or 3 one and dones the next 2 or 3 yrs and we lose them we still have talented people left so we don't have to totally rebuild and to be able to compete every yr for final 4.

Cal said he was not going to let last year happen again and keeping a few players each year is a good move

With Cal you can never get too comfortable.....with what he can do....Harrelson comes to mind.....guys we think should stay go sooner than they should and certainly sooner than we want. However it does seem that Willis, Lee, Hawkins and maybe Johnson will be coming back for the foundation and then Ulis looks to NOT be a OaD if not Booker and Lyles. I'm thinking Town is OaD.,...but then he's currently ranked around # 6 and Lyles is # 7 so who knows.

eric bledsoe comes to mind, as well as daniel orton and maybe throw teague's name in that group. didn't think any of those were going to be one and done. but kids have different back grounds, different reasons. never though t. jones would come back. so you can't really tell. i believe size will keep Ulis around. as for the rest, don't discount the "kentucky effect" when it comes to the draft anymore.

Cal realized last year that you need bodies. He was humbled last year I believe. I love the new recruiting strategy. Get the best of best if he can but also get some 2-4 year guys to roll over to help the classes. He will have more dominant teams that way. And the threat of a bench as he said is biggest fear.

And the threat of a bench as he said is biggest fear. The threat of watching from the ''good seats'' if you can't get with the program.....does......seem to be a very effective tool and one that Cal uses for motivational value. I like the thought of having the depth that makes every practice ''the hardest game we play'' because of the level of talent.....which then gives Cal the tool of saying that if you don't give it your best or don't want to follow Cal's way.....have a seat and the next guy in is given his opportunity.....and the skill level hardly drops. It works for Cal....it worked in '96 era where Dickie V said that UK's second 5 were the second best team in the nation.

Add a reclassifying Malik Newman and Stanley Johnson to that class and we would be set . Since Newman will be too young to declare after one year per NBA rules we would be in good shape for 15 as well.
