I was worried but I know I should remember to trust Coach Cal. Thanks Dave for the quick update with the good news!

You scared me Dave. Glad he's a Cat. It's been a crazy ride this year so far. Sometimes a blood pressure shift...as in 'south of the border shift' is a good thing. Scaring me with ''within the last hour" threads is NOT good for an old fart's heart.............lucky for me with the Lyles to UK in the bag.... I have '4 hrs.' to kill before I need to consult a physician.....so short a time....so many options.

Ditto. As big a get as he is, losing him would have been devastating. Dave, two questions. How many more bigs does Cal expect/ hope to sign OR that we can reasonable expect to return? Everybody's convinced that Willie & Randle will go as lottery picks and seem just as certain that Lee & Willis will come back. As to Dakari & Alex, tho, nobody's seemed really confident in either direction. I've never expected us to sign Okafor; I've yet to hear anything very positive about our chances w/ Turner; and I'd think that IF the expectation is to have 2 of Dakari, Trey & Towns to share the 5, maybe we're done. Your insight would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a rundown of his game? JMO, but think early Danny Manning in terms of range, style & skill set.

Does anyone have a rundown of his game? Trey is legit 6'9, has good hands and soft touch. Can score with variety of post moves with either hand. Can step out to 15 feet and is a good outside shooter. He is a good rebounder and solid in fundamentals, with a high basketball IQ. Some have compared his game to Carlos Boozer. Downsides: Needs more strength. He is not a leaper and average athleticism. Needs to progress on defense, needs work.

Your insight would be appreciated. I don't think there are any more bigs out there that UK is favored to get. There's Turner, Johnson, Okafor, still on radar but all are considered to be leaning elsewhere. I think Cal will tell Dakari to put his name in the hat but we will see how the season goes for him. He could return but I have my doubts. Willis will return and so will Lee, so that's a fairly big front line and no one else is needed unless they are in the elite category. It's possible Poythress could return but I don't see that, not unless, seeing that he is an excellent student, he return for the class time and graduation. The guard position, with Ulis and Booker, is too thin and will need some backups. Also, next years team, so far, won't have the athleticism we are used to. But it will be a good shooting team.

This was a solid get. We've had many guys like this in the past kill us in games and it's always sweet to take one from the Ville.
This recruiting class is pretty solid. Might not have Ferraris like teams of the past but we got a couple of Mercedes and maybe a sporty BMW with Ulis. As of today, we have the #1 recruiting class. That will change quickly if Puke gets the package deal talked about all year. But still a very good class. Liking Booker more and more that I read about him. Cal is good with coaching to the kids abilities and not just his style.
Here is a summary from ESPN on the class as it stands now:
How the class is shaping up: With Lyles on board for 2014, the Wildcats now have another top-10 player in the ESPN 100, joining center Karl Towns Jr., who is one slot above Lyles at No. 6 overall. On the perimeter, the Wildcats have No. 18 Devin Booker, a shooting guard, and No. 33 Tyler Ulis, a point guard. Booker is a big-time shot maker, while Ulis is the biggest winner because he will get to pass to the two most skilled post players in the 2014 class. This class' combination of skill and ability to score is off the charts and will simply drive defenses crazy.

I like driving the opponents defenses crazy.

Glad that he decided to go ahead and commit. I was a lil anxious about him. Wish we could pull Stanley Johnson off the east coast now. He would make this class. Go get him Trey!
