Ok, wanted to give everyone a heads up on some things.
1. Discussions - There has been a lot of talk about the old board and Marc. I know a lot of people want to vent about that and it's understandable, but we need to move on from that. This is a board to discuss Kentucky sports and other things, so let's do that and move away from all the old stuff. None of us have any control over what has happened in the past, and a lot of us are ready to move on. Some threads have already been locked and some more might be once I have a chance to go through things more.
2. Stay on Topic - Please stay on topic in the threads, if you read something or someone says something that makes you want to take the conversation into another direction then just start a new thread with your topic. We need to keep things as organized as possible and it's not fair to the original poster for you to hijack their thread.
3. Ban Hammer - We don't want to ban anyone, but that doesn't mean we wont. Everyone has a responsibility to watch what they post, so if you post something so over the top that it makes some of our mods take notice.. be aware that they will go and review your other posts. If we notice a pattern of trolling or argumentative type posts then don't be surprised to find yourself banned.
4. Posting Information - If you post what you consider "inside information" then you better be able to back it up. We won't discourage anyone from posting info if it's legit, but we also aren't going to let people spread rumors or made up stuff. If you hear or read some news somewhere else and you want to share it then make sure you link to the original source. Give credit where credit is due.

I need this site to ''move on'' and I truly appreciate the efforts of so many to make this happen.
What a great season of UK basketball we have begun.....and what a way to see the ''birth'' of Kat Scratches.....maybe celebrating #9.

Also, I have seen a lot of people talking about how they liked the "respect your team" motto from the old site. So, try to be respectful when talking about our Cats.

Thank you. I will certainly abide by these rules.
I actually think that all members should post a response in this thread accepting these rules, before they are allowed to post/create a thread. If nothing else, hopefully, it forces us to read the rules and make us all think twice before we post something we'll regret because of a brief moment of frustration...

I feel the same way about respecting our team . We all realize our coaches have a better feel for individual players than fans do . Most of these kids are 18 to 21 years old . They come here to prepare for their future . Respect the coaches to lead them in the right direction . Constructive discussion is expected . Name calling and destructive criticism should not be tolerated. Kentucky is not for everyone , just the best of the best . In recruiting wish those that choose other directions well . Relish in the fact that we will be fine without them , as we will let our play determine who we are .

Just reread the rules and I agree with all of them. I think the ban hammer should not be quite as quick as on the former board, but should be used without hesitation to keep the same atmosphere we had before. I know I had never posted on any of the other boards until TBK, because I didn't want to put up with the crap that you "might' encounter. I think the whole goal of a board should be that it appears amicable to the point that "shy" posters are not afraid to post. That's not to say everyone has to agree all the time, but spirited debates are certainly possible with all parties leaving without malice towards each other!

I think the ban hammer should come out quickly when our team is being disrespected. I also think that it shouldn't come out as quickly as on the former board. I love the motto "Respect Your Team". And, we should use "Respect Your Fellow Fan". We may not agree, but we can disagree with respect. If we respect our team and each other, everything else will fall into place. Thanks so much for the new site. It's going to be a great year!
