It's great to see a Kentucky kid come in and not be bedazzled by the happening that is UK Basketball. It looks like Willis and Hawkins are both going to be immune to the paralysis that sometimes happens to Kentucky kids that have dreamed their whole lives about playing for the Big Blue! I think we are going to enjoy their time at UK!!!

Did I miss something, or did Lee not play until the second half? I wonder if he was under some sort of punishment?

I just think that Willis played so well in the first half, that Lee kind of got lost in the shuffle. Did anyone notice Lee, when Cal was being interviewed after the game, goofing around for the camera? Hood pushed him away, but not before he acted a little goofy for the camera. It's a good thing Cal didn't see that or he would definitely be running a little extra in practice. Not that I think it is a huge deal, but I don't think Cal would have been please at all.

Willis can play out on the floor at both ends, right now. Lee is going to be more than fine, but his offense is from 8' in, and he has to learn to keep better balance trying to guard quicker guys 20' away from the rack.
I'll be honest, I don't know how Cal's gonna divide the minutes. Maybe Lee can play the 5, but it would be behind the two towers, so that sort of leaves duty spelling JR. At the same time, Willis can play the 3 or the 4--a 6'9 guy who can stretch the D AND post up a LOT of 3's out there, but Alex & Young demand minutes at one position and, again, you've got JR & Lee at the other. On top of that, you've got the prospect of using either the twin tower look and or using Alex as a more experienced back up for JR.
I never thought I'd say it, but this may be a team w/ more great players than the minutes will accommodate. I really like Lee & want to see Alex play up to his lights out ability, but Willis is rapidly making a believer out of me. Again, he may be the biggest steal in the nation for 2014.

I'm there with you on the players v minutes problem....good one to have though. Cal said Willis wasn't as 'good' as he has been in practice and B-W game gave up more points than he scored. He certainly can shoot the 3 and as he grows in experience the best is yet to come. On a sad note....with the way Willis can shoot...I can understand Kyle transferring - he wouldn't have seen as much playing time as he had been use to......too deep. I'm loving Lee and think he's a good enough kid that he knows that this year is not his year.....next year IMHO we'll reap the improvements this year will bring....yes he'll get minutes this year but next year he'll have all the minutes he wants. I see big things with a little more weight / strength / experience. I can see a next year where Willis and Lee will be studs....being selfish I want Dakari back too.......which is why I think Cal isn't as worried about ''big'' men in the next recruit class. Towns and Lyles with these 2 or 3 will be all we need next year we'll be beasts in the paint IMHO just like we will be this year too.

Willis is looking good right now. Lee is just raw right now. By the MSU game, I would say even Willis will see his minutes go down. It looks like it will be the twins, Young, Randle, Cauley-Stein, Poythress and Johnson and the main rotation. Poulson, Willis and Lee all could play, but the minutes are not going to be there going into the main part of the season.
