Our guards are tremendous fellas. The threesome of The Harrisons and Young have to be the best trio of guards in the entire country already. They are so smooth and I don't really see a weakness in their games at all. They might struggle a tad defensively at times but it won't be anything that we won't be able to manage early on and they'll improve at a rapid pace. These guys can flat fill it up from deep and have no trouble getting to the basket. They all look huge out there and they seem to already be good at getting deflections and getting out on the break.
WCS has become even more athletic. Watching a 7 footer go coast to coast and handle the ball is a thing of beauty.
Julius Randle makes some eye popping beast mode plays. And then he makes some plays with the ball at the top of the key where he pulls up for a jumper that require finesse. He's the total package.
Would like to see more improvement from Alex Poythress. The new guys seem to be pushing him to be better but he stills seems clumsy to me at times and has trouble with body control and ball handling. I hope he doesn't become frustrated because all the other guys are so supremely talented and keeps his head down and continues to work hard and provides this team with whatever he can provide. Whether it be rebounding or defense at times just whatever the case may be in certain matchups.
Derek Willis is going to help this team.
Marcus Lee looks like he plays on a pogo stick. lol. I like the kid a lot. Gonna be a great defender.
Dakari sort of looked out of place in an up and down style of game but when the game slows down and we need a banger inside Cal will call his number.

Keyed in on Young's D tonight, he's real good, predict leading stealer on this team, though both Harrisons no slouches.

I am trying to stay extremely grounded but man, this team is very athletic, and even though Alex Poythress did not play great, I did not see him hang is head, might have missed it but I did not see it. Hawkins, Polson, Willis and even Floreal all looked good in this scrimmage.
The team is 12 deep. This might be a very very very fun 7 months.

This team is going to be flat out great. I agree with everything you said Whitler!
I think Poy will be alright and will contribute about the same as he did last year. I look for around 11 a game with 5-7 rebounds. Like you, I just hope he doesn't get discouraged and continues to work hard.
Young's D is nothing short of spectacular. I know he bunch of steals, but he had just as many tipped balls. I know I said it in another thread, but he will not be back for his sophomore year.
The Harrison's control the temple so well and Aaron is deadly from the outside.
And the biggest shocker of the night is Willis. He has a chance to make a huge impact over his career. He has the potential to have a Darius Miller type career and be just as popular.
It's gonna be a special year guys! Hot damn, I can't wait!!!!

This team seems to have it all when the #13 man can drive and helmet dunk over Randle ! Who else has this much talent?

Some would say it's just a scrimmage.....but where else this side of the Pros are you going to see that much talent playing a 'scrimmage'.....only at UK. I believe it was Julius who opined he came to UK because of the talent he would be practicing against every day. If not him, whoever said it was right on the money. These guys look so good I just hope nobody 'peaks' too soon. When they come together and all the lights go on......I'll be adding a new "14" tatt to my championship scroll (designed to have 12 dates.....+1 over UCLA)

I will be petitioning the NCAA today to implement a rule that all college players have to stay for at least 3 years. This will be a rule that will be implemented starting this season. Who's with me! LOL

I really feel we are 2 deep at all positions(10 players could play significant minutes if necessary). Polson can give solid minutes at the point behind Andrew, and a surprising Willis or Hood could easily give some minutes at the 3/4.
