Allen can play and my connections to hutch have kept him on my radar for quite some time now. I honestly thought that if his recruitment continued to drag on, and it never looked that way really, that ky may have sniffed around a bit more than they did. Cats have missed/passed on some wings/guards already and a kid like allen would have been a sold get in the class that they seem to be putting together. Anyway, nice pick up for arizona and I do think it may influence the johnson decsion somewhat. The longer this drags out the more minutes johnson begins to see as a frosh at ky...at zona...not nearly the minutes to be had or shots from the perimeter. N johnson, TJ mconnel, R hollis jefferson, plus allen and others = not as many opportunities to excel. I have no connections to johnson really, minus one west coast tie, so this is simply specualtion on my part and nothin more. His money should be on Kentucky though, and if not, his career will suffer some...and that aint a knock against miller cause he gets it done. Its more a marketing set back for the west coast wildcats in reality. They just cant compete on a national level with the manner in which CAL is selling the blue and white. 20 a game at arizona on a final four team may not carry as much weight as 10 a game on a kentucky final four team...hope you guys get that...its a business...its sales. Like NJGREG stated, he isnt GREAT, just a really good player in a mediocre class...which translates to a late first round type of guy after a year unless the draft is really weak. I like the kid though and would love to have him on board in lexington but I aint sold on the fact that he's a difference maker either. JK

Glad you have begun posting over here, always value your insight. Did I understand you correctly that this upcoming class (Towns, Ulis, Booker at the moment) is 'mediocre'......whereas the class starting this year with Wiggins, Julius etc is exceptional. If so where would the guys of the '14 compare to the '13 class.
