When others have failed to either achieve or maintain even modest success? Color me a typical BBN fan when it comes to the oblong ball sport. I hope for success, will accept mediocrity but expect something less. Yes, I am a cynic (and truth-be-known, that's one of my finer qualities) and I still have my doubts on whether Stoops and Marrow can close the deal on the string of pledges they're currently enjoying. However, anyway you wanna slice it, this regime is changing both the perception of UK football and the trajectory of the Program. It can not be denied that he product-on-the-field is light years from where Joker left us AND UK mixing it up with some of the big boys on the recruiting front is a marvel. So, back to the question at hand.... how has this staff succeeded where others in the modern era at UK have not?
I'm soliciting responses here because I don't have an answer..... not even an educated guess.

In addition to hiring a coach who comes from a winning tradition, the administration has finally provided the resources needed to demonstrate the school's commitment to football. It has only taken since the 50's to wake up and figure out that this is important.

Gotta agree with Clutch...making a TRUE investment is what will move the program up the food chain. College football is an arms race, and the schools with the best/newest toys will win. Worst thing that happened to UK was that "Recruiting Corner" picture that leaked out during the Joker years...oh, and Joker's record didn't help.
And, where I dog Mitch about where UK was, I also gotta give kudos for his patience in giving Stoops time to put his stamp on the program. Most coaches are run out in year 4. Go back and look at the coaching hires the same year as Stoops. IIRC, all are no longer employed.
Probably about time to start looking at putting Luxury boxes on the visitors side of the stadium, and coming up with the next big thing for luring recruits. Other than our bagmen, of course.
