The University of Scandal got it's notice from the NCAA on March 8th regarding the pay-for-play incident involving Bowen. It was just a matter of time before the grenade got tossed in their direction over this. Also getting greeting cards from Indianapolis were Kansas and Arizona.
Of course, U of L has already distanced itself from Pitino, Jurich and all of the assistant coaches involved so there's nobody left to "punish" other than the program itself. Since they're already on probation it's going to be interesting to see what the punishment(s) will be. There isn't much deniability as to the eventual charges so something has to be handed down. It is generally accepted that the Death-Penalty is in play but highly unlikely to ever be evoked again. That leaves post-season bans, fines and more scholly reductions. It'll probably be a very drawn out affair so penalties may not even be in place before the next season kicks off......
You gotta give Mack a lot of credit for pulling together such a good recruiting class with this hanging over the program.
Fun stuff to entertain us while we wait for next October.

I can imagine a scenario where the NCAA decides that since everyone involved has been fired or otherwise gotten rid of, there is not much further punishment. Maybe the loss of a scholarship and another year of postseason ban. That would leave them some wiggle room to still come down hard on other programs that haven't cleaned house.

IMHO...there's too much money involved in today's game for the '' death penalty'' ....that Louisville will get a '' beating'' while teams like Kansas, Arizona, and possibly Puke might get a '' spanking''

At worst, the ACC's Diefied coach Shitshevski will get the UNCheats penalty of "don't do it again" Bullet proof Bill Self won't get much more. Selective enforcement that exists, from the NCAA should be investigated by congress !
