Tomorrow kicks off the 1st day (of this signing period) prospects can officially sign Letters-Of-Intent. UK will lose a lot of experience on both sides of the ball next year and there's ample opportunity to sell recruits on both the trajectory of the program and the possibility of making an impact early in their collegiate careers. Currently the class is rated in the low 30's so far as National Rankings and 12th in the SEC; pretty familiar territory on both counts. Although UK hasn't necessarily "moved up" in the SEC rankings I do believe that they have reduced the gap between themselves and the more talent-rich programs. Football recruitment is much more a numbers-game than is basketball. It not only takes talent, but it is vitally important to add quality depth. UK doesn't necessarily get the top-shelf talents but they have done a good job of developing what they get and improving the overall depth of the roster. www.aseaofblue.com/2018/12/18/18143534/college-football-recruiting-kentucky-wildcats-early-signing-periodWe'll see what (if any) surprises tomorrow brings.

No real surprises for UK yesterday............ or anyone else really. UK National ranking finished somewhere in the low 30's depending upon which service you look at; not earth-shattering one way or the other. The Jarren Williams situation in Miami will be something to keep an eye on. It would appear that UK is set for the next couple years at QB but I'm not sold (yet) on Wilson.
As I said before, I expect 2019 to be step-back year due to graduations but Stoops is building a decent foundation where it shouldn't be a 3-9 collapse. Having consistent, solid recruiting cycles like this one is the key to putting a competitive product on the field year-in and year-out.
Now..... go get a couple big-fish with those last few open schollies.

About the only surprise is that there were no real surprises. The early signing period is the best thing ever for a program like UK who has had to beat the bushes for talent, and then try to hold on once the word gets out about a previously unknown kid.
