I need to buy a desk top computer, my son has burped this one a lot, it's time to get a new one. I would love to know what you guys and gals would think I should buy?

Lol so what do you mean by "burped." As in, caused issues with it? If you have lots of neophyte users screwing your machine up I would probably recommend an Apple as they're tougher to "mess up." Even though they're expensive, being less "burpable" might get you a longer shelf life.
I say all that as a dedicated Apple hater. If you have a bit of technical knowledge then you can buy a PC for half of what an Apple costs, and if it lasts a couple years less it's still cheap to replace. Generally I buy a PC and use it 5-6 years and then upgrade to a new one (or build my own).

I know a lot of people hate em, but my last 3 laptops have been Dell and I love em. I never have any problems with them. I can't speak for the desktops as the only ones I have ever used have been the ones at work.

I've had Lenovo laptops the past few years at work. Hard to beat.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4

I've had two Dell Inspiron laptops in the last 8-9 years. They are pretty nice machines. Alienware is def the way to go if money isn't an issue, but it all boils down to what your main use for the computer is. Gaming, net surfing, work, etc. These are the things that should define which PC brand or model you choose.

I've always wanted an alienware... but to me they are like an apple laptop. I just can't justify the extra expense. When I bought my dell I added lots of upgrades and got a much better video card than was standard and was still much cheaper than the alienware and the dell had a 17 inch screen. Other than the name what makes them so good?

The police departments around here all use Toshibas. Those things are built like tanks. They all seem to work well.
